Canine exposure

Canines are common teeth that may be impacted (or covered under bone and/or tissue) and does not erupt into the proper location. The upper canines are the 2nd most common sets of teeth to be impacted after the wisdom teeth. Canine exposure requires access to the tooth that has failed to erupt, which requires the removal of a small amount of bone and/or tissue. At the end of the procedure, an orthodontic button will be attached to the tooth to prevent tissue from covering the tooth again.
